Edna Mae Allen, 79, Crawfordsville died 6:30 a.m. Saturday in her residence. Mrs. Allen was a retired custodian for Crawfordsville schools and had been a school crossing guard for 16 years. Her memberships include First Christian Church of Crawfordsville and American Legion Auxiliary. She attended Crawfordsville schools. She was born Nov 24, 1923 in Putnam County to Joseph and Christian Zigler Swank. She married Carl W. Allen on Jan 10, 1941 at Crawfordsville. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Barbara Denham, Crawfordsville; a son, Robert, Brownsburg; a sister, Faye Gardner, Lafayette; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren one great great grandchild. Three brothers and two sisters are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Tuesday in Powers-Priebe Funeral Home, 315 S. Washington St, Crawfordsville with Revs. Russell Robold and Sam Peck officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
