Died Feb 22, Walter, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Allen. His death was due to membranous croup only being sick four days until death came: age 1 year, 5 months and 25 days. A short service was held Sunday at 11 o’clock at the home place consisting of songs and prayers. Interment at IOOF Cemetery at Darlington. The pall bearers were: the Misses Lena Hollingsworth, Minnie Jackson, Goldie Wisehart and Eva Rusk.  Mr. and Mrs. allen have the sympathy of the whole community.  “I thank the Lord, that through the day, Thy hand has led me all the way; I thank thee too for all my friends And all the blessings Jesus sends. Forgive me all I’ve done that’s wrong and fill my heart with love and song; And let the stars like Angels keep their watch above me while I sleep. And when they close their twinkling eyes And go to sleep in morning skies, May I, thy little child awake, I ask it all for Jesus’ sake.” - transcribed by kbz

Walter E. Allen, son of Samuel and Evan Allen died on Feb 22 near Darlington at the age of one year, five months and 25 days. He was a bright, beautiful little boy and the joy of his parents and relatives. He was born on Aug 27, 1893. P 9 – Died Feb 22, 1895, Walter, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Allen.
