Herman L. Allen, 80, Crawfordsville d. at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday (March 30, 1999) in Culver Union Hospital. He retired as a machinist at Mid States Wire Manufacturing Co. Mr. Allen was a WW II Army veteran and a Wallace HS grad. He was an administrator for 23 years at the Crawfordsville Moose Lodge 6 and served as state secretary for the Indiana State Chapter Moose. His memberships include VFW; America Legion 40 and the Eagles Lodge, Crawfordsville. He was born Nov 18, 1918 at Fountain County to Byron and Elsie Watson Allen. He married Bernice F. Moore in 1953. She d. in 1979. Survivors include a stepson, Richard L. Moore a sister Esther Gooding and four stepgrandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown with the Rev. John C. Stacy officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cem, Waynetown. Funeral rites will be conducted by the Moose Lodge 6 at 5 p.m. today in the funeral home. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
