Charles E. Allen, a farmer living near Brown’s Valley, committed suicide Friday morning. He went to the loft of his barn and using a pocket knife, cut his throat. His wife died only a few moments before, having been ill for some time, and the knowledge that her recovery was impossible, may have so worried him that it caused him to take the rash course he did.  Note: His wife was Sarah Vanscoyoc - kz
