Albert Allen, more familiarly known as “Doc” Allen died very suddenly at his home in Browns Valley, Tuesday morning of paralysis at the age of 58 years.  His death occurred about 6 o’clock. He had just returned from feeding some stock when he fell in a faint and soon expired.  Mr. Allen was one of the best known influential farmers in the county where he has resided nearly all of his life. He was a democrat of the old Jeffersonian stripe and one of th emost zealous workers in the party.  He died a widower and childless and leaves considerable property. The funeral occurred from the Freedom Baptist Church Thusrday morning at 10 o’clock under the auspices of the Russellville Masonic Lodge, of which order he had long been a member.

This morning at his home in Browns Valley, Albert Allen one of the best known citizens of Montgomery County died very suddenly. He had been in Crawfordsville last week and had become sick. He was taken home Friday in a buggy and seemed to be getting along all right. This morning about 6 o’clock he araose and after performing his ablutions he suddenly fell over fainting. He died before medical assistance arrived, presumably of heart failure. Mr. Allen was about 60 years of age and a brother of the late Isaac Allen of this city. He had lived in the country nearly all his life and died without any immediate family, his wife and daughter having died some years ago. He was well to do and leaves considerable property. Mr. Allen was respected and liked by all who knew him and was in all things a good and worthy citizen.

Notice is hereby given that the undersigned has been appointed and duly qualified as Administrator of the estate of Albert Allen, late of Montgomery County, Indiana deceased. Said estate is supposed to be insolvent. EP McClaskey, Administrator – Dated July 16, 1892

The funeral of Albert Allen will occur tomorrow morning at 10:30 at Brown’s Valley, Rev. G. P. Fuson officiating with interment at Freedom Cemetery.
