W. F. Alfrey and wife arrived Thursday from Poplar Bluff, Mo., with the body of their ten year old son, Leroy. The funeral will occur this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the residence of Henry Alfrey on East Jefferson Street. Rev. S. H. Creighton will conduct the services and the interment will occur at Oak Hill.

The death of the child was a peculiarly distressing one. Mr. and Mrs. Alfrey left with him only last Saturday and they reached Poplar Bluffs Sunday. On Monday Master Leroy started to school and at the afternoon recess met his death. He was running on the play ground and fell, his body striking a small stump. A blood vessel in the region of the stomach was ruptured and the poor child bled to death. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all in their great affliction. -s
