Robert Alexander, 50, of 603 N 13th St died at St. Elizabeth Hospital at 5:25 p.m. Sunday about a half hour after being rushed to the hospital by police ambulance from his residence. Born at Wingate, he was reared at Elwood and Alexandra, where he attended schools. He was the owner of Alexander Kalamazoo Sales and Service of Lafayette. He had operated the business since 1938 and only recently had moved his residence above his place of business. He bought the business in 1942. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge 123 and Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving are three daughters, Miss Carole Jo Alexander and Mrs. Patricia Phillips both of El Paso, Tex and Mrs. George Ross of Romney. Two brothers and five sisters also survive, Charles of Hot Springs, Ark and Gene of South Carolina; Mrs. Robert White and Mrs. William Minph of Florida; Mrs. Helen Melnik and Mrs. Charles Paul of Muncie and Mrs. Ruby Finley of Elkhart. ---transcribed by kbz

Alexander, Robert – Friends may call at Hippensteel Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.. F&AM 123 rites there at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Services in Hippensteel Chap at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday the Rev. Peter Heemstra officiating; interment in Elwood. Three grandsons survive. A son, ……
