Charles E. Adams, 41, an employe of the Eagles Lodge for the past 12 years, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday in the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis after being seriously ill for two weeks. He was born March 29, 1920, in Perrysville. His parents were Joseph A. and Gertrude Wilson Adams. On May 15, 1945, he was married to Mae Pearsons Gobel. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the hospital Corps, and was an employee of the Crawfordsville Foundry before working at the Eagle’s Lodge. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jo Lynn, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Gilliland of Crawfordsville; a stepson, Staff Sgt. Robert J. Gobel of Germany; three stepgrandchildren; his stepmother, Mrs. Alice Adams of Crawfordsville; four sisters, Mrs. Vera Francis and Mrs. LaVerne Martin of Crawfordsville, Mrs. Mary Foxworthy of Hillsboro and Mrs. Bette Knapp of Danville, Ill.; a brother Joe Adams of Covington, and a stepbrother, Robert Michaels of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
