Waynetown – Services for George E. Abbey, 79 of of Waynetown will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown. The Rev. Ernest Hadden and the Rev. Stphen Malone will officiate with burial to follow in Waynetown Msonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.  Mr. Abbey died Friday evening at the Medical Center in Kissimmee, Fla. He and his wife had been spending the winters in Kissimmee since 1959.  An assistant superintendent for the US Post Office in Hammond, he retired in 1959 (60 – sorry smudgy).  He was a veteran of WWI.  He was a member of McKinley Masonic Lodge 712 and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 370 in Hammond; Scottish Rite, Valley of Orlando, Fla; Bahia Shrine Temple, Orlando; VFW Post 737 in Hammond; the First United Methodist Church, Hammond and NARFE.  He was born Sept 19, 1899 in Carlock, Ill a son of Silas and Minnie (Boldridge) Abbey. He was married to Nila Westfall in Waynetown on May 4, 1927. She survives. Surviving besides his wife are two brothers, John Abbey of Kissimmee and Aubrey Abbey of Wickenburg, Arizona. – kbz
