George A. ALWARD, a former resident of Waveland and a brother of the late John Alward died at his home in Crawfordsville on Wednesday of last week after an illness of three weeks following a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services at the Proffit Funeral Home on Friday afternoon were in charge of Rev CC Fruth. Pallbearers were Jesse Alward; James C. Harris; Harry Harris; Albert Seits; James Alward and Bert Keessee. Flower bearers were Edna Fairfield; Minnie Smith; Tillie Harris; Pearl Sies; Virginia Huxhold; Mrs. Nelson Miles; Beulah Lamson and Edna Tinsley. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. He was the son of William and Roseanna Alward and was born in Fithian, Illinois March 24, 1865. He was twice married, the last time to Mrs. Sarah Fletcher in 1935 who survives him. There are two children by the first marriage: Mrs. Henry Casey and Clarence Alward, both of Henderson, Ky. Mrs. Henry Seits is a sister.
