Laura E. McMillin Akers, 104 years old, died at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Bowles Convalescent Home where she had been a patient for nearly a month. She observed her last birthday on March 29--ten days after her arrival from Lafayette. Mrs. Akers, the former Laura Heffner was a native of Waynetown. Survivors include two sons, Alvin J. McMillin of Bradenton, Fla., and Arthur McMillin; three grandchildren, William McMillin, Mrs. Jesse C. Stockton and Mrs. Williard McMillin, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Services are pending at Zahn-Schneider Funeral Home at Lafayette. -- tch
