Miss Susan A. Alward, daughter of Wm. M and Mary R. Alward, died at the home of her parents, on East Howard Street, Dec 12, 1901. She was born in Harrisburg, PA Feb 23, 1868. The funeral services at the ME Church on Saturday were conducted by Rev. WF Gibson, after which the body was laid to rest in Old Union Cemetery. Although an invalid all her life, she was patient, loving and kind to all around her. Her life-long sickness did not permit her to show to others her love and faith in Jesus, but in her last moments she spoke of seeing the great beyond, and being with God the father. The family wishes to extend their thanks to all who so kindly assisted during her illness. - kbz
