Sylvia S. Alvey, Former Resident, Dies At Marion- Mrs. Sylvia Stanley Alvey, 69, former resident of this county, died suddenly Monday noon at her home near Marion. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Alvey was born June 2, 1889, near West Point. She was a birthright member of the Farmers Institute Friends Church, and was married 53 years ago to Harvey M. Alvey. Mr. and Mrs. Alvey lived on farms in this county for about 20 years. During that time, they resided in the New Market, Crawfordsville, New Richmond and Alamo communities. Mrs. Alvey was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. The survivors include the husband; a son, John Alvey of Marion, and two grandchildren. A daughter preceded her in death. Funeral services have been set tentatively for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Farmers Institute Church north of New Richmond and west of Romney. - kbz
