NEW ROSS — Clarence N. Alvey, 73, of New Ross, died Sunday evening in Winona Hospital at Indianapolis, where he was taken after being stricken with a heart ailment. He was an electrical contractor for many years and operated an electrical appliance business here. A native of Wingate, he was a son of John and Zorado Kindall Alvey and was born Nov. 1, 1896. He was married at Clermont on Dec. 24, 1928 to Grace E. Long, who died in 1962. Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Pearl A. Carter of Rt. 2, Crawfordsville, Mrs. Lora Durflinger of Fowler, Mrs. Maude Unger of Brook, Mrs. Lydia Cheek of Kentland and Miss Nell Alvey of San Diego, Calif., and a brother, Harvey M. Alvey of Upland. A sister is deceased. Funeral rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home in Jamestown, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in New Ross Cemetery.--waw
