Mrs. Hazel Alston, 74, 311 S. Barr St died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the Ben Hur Nursing Home. She had been ill for several months. She was born June 1, 1895, in Waynetown to John and Carrie Westfall Grenard. In June 1925 she married Thomas Alston. Mrs. Alston was a member of the First Baptist Church, OES, American Legion Auxiliary and WWI Barracks Auxiliary. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert Snyder and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband. Services will be conducted by Rev. Milo Riggs at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday. - kbz
