Mrs. Georgia G. Allhands, 89, Rt. 6, Crawfordsville, died early Tuesday morning at her home following a short illness. Mrs. Allhands had been the manager and operator of the family farm near Crawfordsville following the death of her husband, Dr. Frank D. Allhands. He died Jan. 8, 1953. He had been a practicing physician in Wingate for 42 years where he and his wife had set up housekeeping following their marriage on Oct. 8, 1901, in Sellersburg. Born Jan. 23, 1874, near Sellersburg, Mrs. Allhands was the daughter of Columbus C. and Vashti Willy Goodwin. She was a member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, Dallas G. of Seattle, Wash., Tyler of Urbana, Ill., and Franklin of New Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Vashti Virginia Nannet, who lived with her mother; a sister, Mrs. Mary Hester of Fort Dodge, Iowa; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Allhands was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters in addition to her husband. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Bright Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Howard Marsh will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery near Elmdale. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Crawfordsville – Mrs. Georgia G. Allhands, 89, widow of a long-time Wingate physician died Tuesday morning in her home on Rt 6, Crawfordsville after a 10-day illness. A native of Sellersburg she was married in 1901 to Dr. Frank D. Allhands who practiced medicine at Wingate for 42 years. He died in 1953 and she continued active management of a large farm and cattle interests until her illness. She was a member of Sellersburg Church of Christ. Surviving are three sons: Dallas G of Seattle, Wash; Tyler of Urbana, Ill and Franklin D. of New Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Vashti Nannet at home and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hester of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
