Truman W. Allen, 61, who lived northeast of the city on the Darlington Road died Tuesday night at Culver Hospital as the result of a heart ailment. He had been ill 10 days. Mr. Allen was employed at the Harris Packing Co for a number of years and later at the Standard Grocery in Lafayette. About 3 weeks ago he started to work at an IGA grocery in Brownsburg. Born Jan 30, 1902 in Grundy Co MO he was the son of Edd and Anna Dennis Allen. He was married Feb 17, 1923 at Tenton MO to Ivy May Looman. He was a member of the Blue Ridge MO Methodist Church. The survivors include the widow; a son, Ivan of Montclair, Calif; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Hardaway of near Crawfordsville; 5 grandchildren; a brother, Everett of Hood River, Ore and six sisters, Mrs. Etta Gunther of Estherville, Iowa; Mrs. Carrie Franson of Jacumba, Calif; Mrs. Laura Brown and Mrs. Thelma Kingensmith, both of Jaresport, MO; Mrs. Gladys William of Rushville, Mo and Mrs. Dollie Gillilan of Phoenix, Ariz. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Thursday. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.- kbz
