Sidney E. ALLEN, 57, a native of Parke County died Tuesday evening in Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis where he had been a patient since May 26. He was born Oct 3, 1904, in Parke County, son of John H. and Ida May King Allen. He served with the United States Army in WWII and the Korean conflict. Survivors include a son, David of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Jean of Elgin, Ill; four sisters, Mrs. Herbert Youman of Rockville; Mrs. Fred Stevens, Indianapolis; Mrs. Pearl Davidson of Waveland and Mrs. Clarence Long of Bloomington; 3 brothers, Forest and Frank of Waveland and Ernest Hutson of Westfield; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Machledt & Servies Funeral home Friday afternoon with Rev. Grover DeNeal officiating; burial in Wolf Creek Cemetery. NR Walker played organ selections and pallbearers were Lowell Spencer; Harold Tague; Clarhud Moore; Fred McNutt; Bill Shular; William Search and Leslie Allen. - kbz
