Omer Allen, 69, a farmer in Montgomery and Fountain Counties most of his life, died at 11:20 o'clock Monday night at his home NW of here on State Road 55. He had been seriously ill since suffering a cerebral hemorrhage 5 days ago. Born July 13, 1881 near Wallace, Mr. Allen was the son of Cornelius and Harriet (Sowers) Allen. He married Opal Myers at Wallace Nov 21, 1909. He was a member of the Wolf Creek church at Wallace. Surviving are the widow; 8 children: Loren; Hazel and Barbara all at home; Darrell and Glenn Allen, both of Wingate; Mrs. Juanita Andrews and Mrs. Evelyn Pirtle both of Clinton and Mrs. Lois Patton of Crawfordsville; 9 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Arney Allen of Wallace; Ethal Allen of Crawfordsville; and Emory Allen of Hillsboro; and 3 sister, Mrs. Lydia Pickett and Mrs Viola Gooding, both of Wallace and Mrs. Ical Shelton of Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Wolf Creek Church at Wallace, with burial at the Wolf Creek Cemetery. Rev. CL Airhart will be the officiating minister. Friends may pay their respects at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home until 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon when the body will be taken to the family home. Friends may call at the family home until 11:30 o'clock Thursday monring. The body will lie in state at the church one hour. - kbz
