Waynetown -- Mrs. Mavis M. Allen, 63 died at Culver Hospital in C'ville Sunday at 8 p.m. from complications following an operation on Friday Sept 19. She had been ill for a year. A native of Marshall, Mrs. Allen was born July 5, 1889 the daughter of Andrew and Ida Lundren Henley. On May 1, 1905 she was married to Emery Allen who survives. She was a member of the Christian Scientist religion. The family residence is on RFD 1, Hillsboro. Survivors in addition to the husband include 4 sons: Cyril, Wallace; Clifton, Wingate; Clifford Albuquerque NM and Kenneth of Hillsboro: 4 daughters, Miss Thelma Allen, Indianapolis; Mrs. Violet Miller, Bloomington; Mrs. Ruth Tansel, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Norma Wilson, Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wed. at 2 p.m at the Wolf Creek Church South of Wallace. The Rev. McBride of the Wingate Methodist Church will be in charge. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery adjoining the church. Friends may pay their respects at the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. -- kbz
