Mrs. Mary Alice ALLEN, 78, died Monday at the home of her daughter Mrs. JL Rice of Marshall. She was born Dec 25, 1856 near Russellville, the daughter of Samuel and Malinda Galey. She was married in 1874 to James H. Allen. He died 4 years ago. Survivors are 3 daughters; Mrs. Effie Rice, Mrs. Mary Seybold and Mrs. Fannie Clark, 10 grandchildren and 5 greats. Burial in Indian Creek Cemetery near Browns Valley.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary A. Allen was held at the Browns Valley Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. H.H. Elmore. Mrs. Allen was the mother of Mrs. Jasper Rice at whose home in Marshall she died on Monday afternoon after six months illness. Besides Mrs. Rice there are two daughters, Mrs Mary Seybold of Russellville and Mrs. Fannie Clark of Indianapolis - kbz
