James H. ALLEN, son of William and Mary Ellis Allen was born near Browns Valley March 13, 1854 and died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Jasper L. Ricke at Marshall, Jan 6, 1932 aged 77 years 9 months 23 days. He spent his entire life with the exception of a few years spent in Iowa in the Montgomery County area near Browns Valley. He married Nov 5, 1874 Mary Alice GALEY. Survivors are the wife, 3 daughters, Mrs. JL Rice of Marshall, Mrs Maurice Seybold and Mrs. Robert Grimeso f Russellville, 10 grandchldren and two greats. He was the last of his family. He was preceded in death by a son Walter who died in infancy, his parents, one sister Mrs. William Layne and a half brother, John Davis. Burial in Indiana Creek Cemetery north of Browns Valley.
