Dafford Arnet Allen, 63, died unexpectedly at his farm home 4 miles SW of here at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday June 21, 1960. He was a lifetime resident of Parke County. Born Feb 11, 1897 in Parke Co, he was a son of Cornelius and Harriet Sowers Allen. He was married in 1918 to Abbie Simmons who survives. Also surviving are 4 sons: Dale of Hillsboro and Arista, Gerald and Vernand of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Ingersoll of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. George Gooding and Mrs. Ical Shelton of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Ethan of Crawfordsville and Emery of Hillsboro and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and a brother. The body is at the Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown where friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Servies officiating. Burial in Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown. - kbz
