CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - Mrs. Berniece Fay Allen, 68, of 507 Prospect, Crawfordsville, a resident of Crawfordsville most of her life, died at 2:25 a. m. today (Sept. 10, 1979) at her home. She had been ill some time. Born No v. 29, 1910, in Mellott, Ind., she was the daughter of Everett and Matie Wilhite Harper. She was married in 1953 in Crawfordsville to Herman L. Allen, who survives. Mrs. Allen had attended Wingate schools. She was a member of the Mellott Christian Church, Crawfordsville Women of the Moose, V FW Auxiliary and American Legion Post Auxiliary. Other survivors include a son, Richard L. Moore of Crawfordsville; a brother, John Harper of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Jesse McManomy, Mrs. Jean Ballard and Mrs. Leota Arnetta Cline, all of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Powell of Waynetown and Mrs. Louise McConn ell of Crawfordsville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Thom as Funeral Home in Waynetown. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Allen was a member of Mellott Christian Church, Women of the Moose 696 of Crawfordsville, and the auxiliaries of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles, all of Crawfordsville. She had been a resident of Crawfordsville more than 50 years. She was born Nov 29, 1910 at Wingate, a daughter of Everett and Mattie Wilhite Harper. She attended Wingate schools. In 1953 she married Herman Allen of Crawfordsville who survives. Other survivors are a s on, Richard L. Moore of Crawfordsville; a brother, John Harper of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Jesse McManomy, Mrs. Jean Ballard and Mrs. Arnetta Cline all of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren; four great grandchild ren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Services by Women of the Moose will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
