RAYMOND F. ALEXANDER

Raymond F. Alexander of Anderson, a former Crawfordsville resident was fatally injured Friday in an automobile accident near Fortville, Ind., while en route to the funeral of a brother-in-law in East St. Louis, Ill., according to word received by relatives here. A well-known pressman, Mr. Alexander started his career with the former Crawfordsville Journal while a student in Crawfordsville high school from which he graduated with the class of 1914. While in high school, the deceased was prominent in athletic circles. The accident victim was born August 26, 1896, in Somerset, Ky., the son of Alfred S. and Sarah E. Dye Alexander. He married Hazel Dodson. The father was a former policeman. Surviving in addition to the father who now resides in Brewton, Ala., are a son, Kenneth Alexander of Boomington; two brothers, Roscoe C. Alexander of Brewton, Ala., and Russel M. Alexander of Roseburg, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. A.H. Hursey of East St. Louis, Ill., and Mrs. F.A. Lemmon of Hurricane, Utah. Mr. Alexander's body Sunday afternoon was brought to the Proffitt and Sons parlors where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning in charge of Rev. George King. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
