NEWMAN (CNS) – Mrs. Pearl V. Alexander, 88, of Findlay, Ohio, a former resident of Newman, died at noon Wednesday (Nov. 10, 1976) at the Winebrener Care Facility in Findlay. Born March 12, 1888, at Charleston, she was the daughter of James and Hester Stokes Echard. On July 17, 1915, at Charleston, she married Earl Alexander, who died in 1956. Survivors include two sons, Charles of Waynetown, Ind. and Robert of Minneapolis, Minn.; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Now of Findlay, Mrs. Mabel Nelson of Elm Mott, Tex. and Mrs. Mary Frahm of Newman; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Brewer and Mrs. Grace Portwood, both of Charleston; 37 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel Church three miles southwest of Newman, with the Rev. Mildred Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Joines Funeral Home. – jlr
