NEW RICHMOND—Mrs. Nettie Alexander, 87-year-old former resident of this community, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Waterford Nursing Home at Michigan City. Mrs. Alexander, who was born in southern Indiana, was a lifelong member of the New Richmond Methodist Church. She operated a millinery shop and taught school here before her marriage to James Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a barber here for a number of years until his death. Surviving are a son, Hubert Alexander of Gary and a brother, Walter Robinson of Versailles. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist Church here with Rev. Harold Clark in charge. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
