ROCKVILLE - Robert P. Aikman, 87, of 221 S. Lincoln Road, died at 5:28 a.m. today in Castle-Shannon Nursing Home at Rockville. He had farmed in the Dana area for 25 years before retiring in 1972. Mr. Aikman was a 50-year member of Asbury Masonic Lodge 320; Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis; life member of Zora Shrine of Terre Haute; Parke County Low 12 Club; and Half-Century Club of Clinton. Born Sept. 26, 1887, he was a son of Henry Montford and Emma Ford Aikman. Surviving are a son, Joe of Marshall; a granddaughter, Miss Patricia Joan Aikman of Indianapolis; and a niece, Mrs. Estelle Miller of Gas City. His wife, Emma, died in 1962. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Tudor-Herrick Memorial Chapel at Rockville with the Rev. James O. Trousdale officiating. Burial will be in Toronto Cemetery at Dana. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. - jlr
