Helen Abney, 90 of Crawfordsville died at 7:25 p.m. Saturday in Williamsburg Health care. Mrs. Abney was a cook for many years at the Crawford Hotel & Restaurant. She was a member of Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church and attended Crawfordsville High School. She was born at Crawfordsville July 18, 1904 to Jake and Pearl Stamps Zachary. She married Neville O. Abney July 12, 1924 at Crawfordsville. He died in March 1965. Survivors include a son, Jack; five daughters, Eleanor Fairfield, Barbara Taylor, Delores Taylor, Darlene and Judy Abney; two brothers, Kenneth Zachary and Robert Zachary; a sister, Vivian McGaughey; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at he Masonic Cemetery North with Rev. Michael Bragg officiating. Hunt & Son Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. - kbz
