Perry F. ABBOTT, 68 retired Donnelly plant employee died at his home, 421 E. Market St, at 3 a.m. Monday. Mr. Abbott was retired last January after 26 years service with the local printing plant. Prior to that, he had been a farmer for many years in the Mace community. An accomplished musician, Mr. Abbott throughout his life encouraged young people in the pursuit of music. He was able to play almost every kind of music instrument himself. Born Feb 2, 1885 in Montgomery County, he was the son of Joseph and Celia Reid Abbott. His marriage to Rosa F. LAYNE took place in St. Bernard's catholic Church in Crawfordsville June 22, 1910. Mr. Abbott attended school at Mace & later attended Wabash College. He was a member of St. Bernard's Church. The survivors include his wife; a son, Raymond and daughter, Mrs. Donald ELKINS, both of this city; a granddaughter, Donna Sue Elkins, of this city; a brother, Aben Abbott of near Mace and two sisters, Mrs. Albert Keffer of Mace and Mrs. Walter Capliner of Lebanon. A sister, Mrs. Clara Reynolds and a brother, Leonard Abbott preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wed at St. Bernard's Church with Rev JC Keating in charge. Burial in Calvary Cem. Friends may pay their respects at Bright Funeral Home where Rosary services will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday. - kbz
