Dear Sir:

I have volunteered to serve in the Mexican War and expect to start in a few days It will therefore be necessary to call upon you for so much of the proceeds of my fathers estate as may fall to me; that my debts to about that amount may be paid. A Mr. William H. Boynton will call upon you in about two weeks with an order for the same; and he will pay it over to my Creditors in this place. If the money is not by you I would be pleased if you would procure the same, so that I can go without disgrace. Please give my love to all friends.
