Buried in Ladoga Indiana and actually passed away THIS year (1856-1932) – Wife was Loisa Agee 1858-1943 – there are pics of them on FindAGrave

- his father, Peter Oglesby Dinsmore died during the Civil War

LETTER – Jasper Newton Dinsmore’s wife was Louisa Agee.  Jasper was a brother of John Manson Dinsmore, father of Elzora Dinsmore Davis, mother of Cecil Davis Connaroe who was the person who held on to these letters – eventually they were passed on to her niece, Joyce Davis Jones – thanks Andy R for these

March 21st, 1932 – Dear Brother & nephew,
Just a few lines to tell you Jasper has been better to day. Don’t know if it will last or not one day he is better and the next day he is worse.  He felt prettie much encouraged today but I am afraid he will be disappointed. I hope not; sorry to hear you was poorly and hope you will soon be all right again.  I have got a severe cold and sore throat, I can can (sic) hardly be up it has been six weeks since Jasper was out doors, the Dr. said he must not go out doors till it gets good and warm like it is in the house, he has to be careful what he eats.  Come up when you can. Arthur is still with us, I don’t know what we would do if it wasn’t for him, he is working at the school house in his Paps place. Hope you are both well love and best wishes to you both from your sister Lou. Tues am. Jasper is not so well this morning his limbs are swollen about his knees. He don’t feel like being up.

March 4, 1932 – Dear Brother & nephew,
Am writing a few lines to tell  you Jasper is very poorly with kidney trouble something like Brights’ disease. He hasn’t been able to get out doors for 4 weeks. He is not bed fast but is up and down. The Dr. don’t give us much encouragement. He said he might get out but would never be able to work any more. He looks bad and is awfully weak suffers with head ache quite a lot. I can’t say what the outcome will be, but his case is doubtful, he don’t feel so well today as common.  I thought you would want to know about him. So if you write don’t say anything about his condition being serious he don’t know it and we don’t want him to know it for he would give up and not try to get better. We are worried but we cant stay here always and we are all getting old. The main thing is to be prepared to meet our God.  I will let you know if he gets worse. Come down when you can. I am not well but must try to keep up to care for Jasper. Love to you both from your sister Lou. Hope you are both well.
