IRISH IMMIGRANTS TO MONTGOMERY County, INDIANA

E-G

Note: I have collected information on immigrants to our County for many years, at one time, hoping to publish a book

I just recently thought, "Why am I holding this information? It needs to be used." So, USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd like to thank Barry Pool, wico.net, for letting me provide this information to the "net" community. You will want to take NOTE of different spellings (for example, there are at least 5 variations of the name Conner). NOTE _______ DO NOT ASK for other information on any of these immigrants

this is ALL I have for EACH one. Thank you in advance for NOT asking for further help.

60 years. Came to this County from Ireland with his wife in 44 to make his fortune, but his wife soon tired of America and returned with the little ones to the Emerald Isle, he remaining here to gather the coveted fortune and regularly remitting his earnings to wife and little ones across the "dape, dape seas." John is a deft hand with the spade and clippers, and has done more to reclaim the waste lands of Coalcreek than any other man in it. He had no equal in the art of sheep shearing, but last winter fell down the stairs at Dr. D.M. Washburn's of New Richmond, breaking his collar bone and dislocating his solder, since which time he has not been able to do anything.
