COURT, Steve - Crawfordsville Journal Review 7-19-1950 - SteveCourt, 60, a resident of this city 28 years, died of heart seizure at5 o'clock Wednesday morning at Culver Hospital. He had been infailing health four years. Born in 1890 on the land of Crete, Mr.Court came to Crawfordsville in 1922 when he and a businessassociate, Harry G. Gianakis, opened the NY Shoe Rebuilders shophere. He was associated with the shoe shop until 1947 when heretired because of his health. Mr. Court was a member of the GreekOrthodox Church in Indianapolis. Since coming to this city he hadattended the First Methodist Church. Surviving are three brothers,George, John and Nick Court, a sister, Mrs. Sophia Pataras andseveral nieces and nephews living in Crete. The boy (sic - I assumebody since he was NOT a boy) was taken to the Hunt & Son FuneralHome where friends may pay their respects after noon Thursday.

1975 - Harry J. Giankis, 85, a Crawfordsville businessman since1921, died this morning in Culver Hospital. He had been fatallystricken in his home, 700 S. Green St, at about 5:30. Mr. G. foundedNY Shoe Repair in 1921. His son, John now operates the business. Hewas born in Crete, Greece, Feb 10, 1890. He moved to the US in 1910and to Crawfordsville in 1921. He was married to Mary H. Malakis in1935. Surviving are the widow; two sons, John and William ofChicago; and 3 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wed. inGreek Orthodox Church at Indianapolis. Bur. in Crawfordsville MasonicCemetery Friends may call at Hunt & Son Funeral Home at 8 p.m.Tuesday.

Milton Kiragus proprietor of the Candy Kitchen here, died at CulverHospital at 6 p.m. Tuesday following a lingering illness. Mr.Kiragus, a native of Greece who has resided in Crawfordsville thepast 20 years, was forced to retire from an active part in hisbusiness several years ago following a stroke of paralysis. He livedat 112 W. Spring Street. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. FlossieKiragus, and four children: George Betty, Harry and Nick, all of thiscity. The funeral will be held from the Proffitt & Sons funeralhome at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in charge of Rev. Skartsiaris ofthe Greek Orthodox Church in Indianapolis. Friends may pay theirrespects at the residence 112 W. Spring St from 5 p.m. Wed until noonon Thursday after which they may call at the funeral home. Burialwill be made at Masonic Cemetery.
