Upon receipt of the house Virginia Welch was given a handwritten
notebook containing the below pages. The book is rapidly coming
apart and therefore once this record is complete will be placed
in a protective covering and not to be opened again without
special consent of the owner. The complete book is written is
script. The handwriting is beautiful and must be seen to be
appreciated.
Entries are in the page order given and seem to be a record of the sheriff's pay for the years 1901 through 1904 and written in 1904.
The page numbers are on the front right of every other leaf. The front left has no page number entries in the book therefore if the front left has entries I have indicated the page number as Fr. L. (page no.).
Pages and sentences are divided as in the book.
(sp) indicates spelling as in the book.
All entries in italics were made by me for easier following of content.
In some cases I can not verify the true spelling of the names.
