VERA MARGARET PEFLEY Nov. 02, 1911 - June 20, 2001
Vera Margaret Pefley died in Sequim at the age of 89. Mrs. Pefley was born in Spokane to Bert J. and Eva (Patterson) Lash. She married James C. Pefley on June 10, 1934, in Spokane. He died in 1987. Mrs. Pefley was an accomplished quilter, knitter, cross sticher, and handicrafter. She was also a volunteer bookkeeper at Sequim Presbyterian Church for many years. She was a member of the Sequim Presbyterian Church and a longtime member of the Covenant Christian Church in Spokane. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Chuck and Penny Pefley of Seattle; sister Evelyn Lash of Spokane; grandchildren Liesl Dominguez of Greeley, Colo., Heidi Nelson of Copperas Cover, Texas, and Dalwyn Pefley of Denver; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and infant son, David Henry Pefley in 1937. Services: 1 p.m. Monday, June 25, memorial service at Sequim Presbyterian Church with Dr. Scott Koenigsaecker officiating. Burial will be at the Spokane Memorial Gardens in Spokane. Sequim Valley chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: Uncompensated Care Fund for Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center, 4800 Sandpoint Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105.
