Martha Jane COTTON, 71, died Monday night March 27 at 8:30 in the Shannon Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. Mrs. Cotton had been in failing health for 3 years. Born Sept 30, 1878 in Fountain Co, she was the daughter of William F. and Mahala Keller July 9, 1895 she married William Cotton who preceded her in death Feb 6, 1949. Funeral services were held in the Freedom Baptist Church where Mrs. Cotton was a long time member. Rev. EF Prevo officiated at the funeral Wednesday afternoon with burial in Freedom Cemetery. Surviving are 5 sons: Wesley of Waveland; Francis and Austin both of Crawfordsville; William of Linden; Clifford of Alamo; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Haskett of Waveland; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Leighty of Mellott and Mrs. Flossie Simmons of Terre Haute; four brothers, Aaron Keller of Logansport; Harry Keller of Crawfordsville; Manson Keller, Ladoga and Howard Keller of Pontiac Illinois; 30 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
