A Hillsdale man, George Edward KELLER, age 30, was instantly killed Tuesday in a freak accident which occurred on US 36 east of Montezuma. A spare tire from an approaching truck hit a road sign and bounced into the air, coming down with terrific impact on the front of Keller's car, crushing the front of the vehicle and killing the driver. The Keller car careened into a field, made a big circle, recrossed the highway and landed in a creek. Keller, an employee of the B & O Railroad was a 14-year veteran with the National Guard at Rockville.
