Through the Child's Welfare Department of the Woman's County Council., Upton Keene, the 9-year-old son of Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson, was relieved of suffering from a growth on his head by the means of a surgical operation. The growth had been there for some time, but his mother's financial condition was such that she could not stand the expense of an operation. The council took the matter up and the operation was conducted at their expense. The council is doing good work along charitable lines and are worthy of the hearty encouragement of the citizens of this city.
