Services for Mrs. Elsie Grizzle of 138 S. Jefferson St have been set for Thursday afternoon. The 2 o'clock serv will be conducted at the Cure Hensley Chapel with Rev. Wilson Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cem. The 79-year-old long time Martinsville resident died Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at Bloomington Convalescent Center where she had been a patient since Oct. 3. The d/o Wm. & Mary Ann Baldwin Jeffrey, she was born May 14, 1896 in Montgomery County. In August of 1912 she was married to Jack Grizzle, who died Dec 3, 1945. A former resident of Veedersburg, Mrs. Grizzle had lived in Martinsville since 1934. For 30 years she served as a bath attendant at the Martinsville & Home Lawn sanitariums. Mrs. Grizzle was a member of Baptist Church in Crawfordsville and belonged to the Pocahontas Lodge. Surviving her are 4 daughters: Mrs. Dorothy Keller; Mrs. Ivis Stevens; Mrs. Leota Plummer and Mrs. Thelma "Babe" Hancock and a sister, Mrs. Alice Howard of Lakeland, FL. She also leaves 4 grandchildren and 4 greats. Preceding her in death are 3 sisters, 7 brothers and 4 grandsons. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 o'clock this evening and until service time Thursday.
