Clay Jarvis died at his home northwest of town, Tuesday evening after being sick for sometime with typhoid fever which assumed a grave form at the start.  The funeral at the Baptist Church yesterday afternoon was conducted by Rev SK Fuson of Bloomingdale. The burial was the news cemetery.  He was the second son of Joseph and Rachel Jarvis and was born Oct 31, 1848. He was married to Ella S. Spencer who died AUg 1, 1902.  Three daughters, Hazel, Cecil and forest and one brother, Samuel, survive him.  It is noteworthy that Mr. Jarvis was buried on the 24th anniversary of his wedding.  He was successful farmer and stock dealer and had amassed considerable property.

Clay Jarvis, who died last week had a $5000 policy in the Equitable Insurance Company on which he had made but one payment.
