Fisher Benton Galey, a well-known resident of Browns Valley, died at 3:45 on Sunday afternoon. He had been suffering from heart trouble but attending to his work as janitor of the Baptist Church in the morning. Funeral services at the Browns Valley Baptist Church on Wed. morning at 11 were in charge of Rev. Raymond Skelton. The pallbearers were Jeff Davis; Reuben Miles; Clyde Patton; Jesse Carrington; McKinley Burroff and Frank Wilkinson. A quartet, Mrs. Frank Wilkinson, Mrs. Walter Penn, Evert Keys and Walter Taylor sang with Mrs. Walter Taylor at the piano. The numerous floral offerings were carried by intimate friends and members of the missionary society. Burial in Freedom Cemetery. He was the son of Benjamin and Pauline Armstrong Galey and was b. Oct 4, 1865. He marr. Tessie MATHERS in Benton, KS, Nov 16, 1888, who survives with 5 children: Homer N. Galey, Palisade Park, NY: WL Galey, Kansas city Mo; Mrs. JR Canine, Washington DC; Mrs. Frank E. Shanks of Waveland and Charles at home. Two sisters Mrs. Leslie Carrington and Miss Sallie M. Galey and 3 nieces, Mrs. Edwin Barnard, Mrs. George Gerichs and Mrs. Robert Wilson were present.
