Edith L. Mahoy
Edith “Dede” Mahoy, 85, of Darlington, passed away Thursday evening at St. Clare Medical Center in Crawfordsville.
Born in Montgomery County, Indiana on June 8, 1921, she was one of five children of the late Leo and Blanche Dukes Flanigan. On June 7, 1941, she married Robert F. Mahoy. He passed away on October 17, 1995.
Mrs. Mahoy was a devoted farm wife, homemaker and mother of four sons. She was a member of the Darlington East Christian Church and the Darlington East Christian Church Ladies Fellowship.
She is survived by her sons Philip L. (Sherry) Mahoy, Darlington, Don Mahoy, Darlington, Gary (Ann) Mahoy, Louisville, Kentucky; brother James Flanigan, Florida; three grandchildren, one step-grandchild and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Joe; sisters Pat Sauer, Mary Jo Barker and Marge Robinson; and a brother, Phil Flanigan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 PM Monday at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Friends may call Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Darlington Public Library, P.O. Box 248, Darlington, IN 47940 and the Darlington Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
