Levi Fisher, 88, Former Resident, Dies in California
Levi Fisher, 88, former resident of Montgomery County, died
Sunday, May 19, at the Gill Rest Home in Sacramento, Calif.,
where he had been a patient the past month. He was born March 12,
1869, near Darlington and was married to Ortha Butcher, who
survives. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in
January. During most of his life, Mr. Fisher was a farmer near
Bowers. When their farm home was burned, the resided in Thorntown
for a brief period and then, in 1939, they went to Sacramento,
where they have since resided. Mr. Fisher was a faithful member
of the Church of the Nazarene in Sacramento. In addition to the
son, Ray, in Crawfordsville, four daughters also survive. They
are Mrs. Frances Goodsell, Mrs. Clella Mann, Mrs. Katherine Berg,
and Mrs. Lucille Maloof, all of Sacramento. Several grandchildren
and also a number of great grandchildren also survive. The
funeral services will be held at the Andrews and Greilich Funeral
Home Wednesday with burial at Sacramento.
