John William FENDLEY, 72, died at 11:30 o'clock Tuesday morning at his home in Parkersburgas the result of a stroke of paralysis suffered last Saturday. Mr. Fendley was born on September 7, 1855, near Parkersburg, the son of Thomas and Martha Hicks Fendley. On December 28, 1879, he was married to Melissa E. Parks who died two years ago. Mr. Fendley spent his entire life in Parkersburg and the vicinity. He was a member of the Christian Church in this place. He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. William Davis of Ladoga; Mrs. Lorena Prather of Parkersburg; Mrs. Chester Hankins of Indianapolis; Mrs. Glen Miles of Indianapolis; Mrs. Lee Burkett of Parkersburg and Mrs. Albert Johnson of New Market, and one son, Richard A. Fendley of New Market. 12 grandchildren and a brother, RIchard Fendley of Parkersburg also survive. The funeral will be held from the Parkersburg Christian Church at 2 Thursday afternoon . The Rev. Hale Overstreet of Advance will be in charge. Burial will be made at Ladoga.
