Reuben Faust was born in Butler County, Ohio Jan 1, 1817 and died at his home in Darlington June 6, 1899. When 8 years of age, he with his parents came to this county and settled some 5 miles south of Crawfordsville, but the last 40 year so fhis life were spent in this township. He was twice married and leaves a wife and several children to mourn his death. He has long been a member of the Lutheran Church and devoted member of the Masonic order. He was a man of many virtues and died respected by all who knew him. The funeral was held at the Lutheran Church east of town, conducted by Rev. Fryberer, pastor of the church, and was under the auspices of Darlington Lodge NO. 186 F & AM. Thus another landmark is removed, another familiar face is gone and again are we reminded that we are fast passing away.
