The Rev. HH Elmore, pastor of Waveland Baptist Church died at his home, 305 W. Market Crawfordsville Friday at 4:00 p.m. He had been ill since Sunday when he suffered a slight heart attack while preaching. He was born in Montgomery County August 28, 1878 the son of David E. and Alice ELMORE. He was married to Julia B. DURHAM June 1, 1904. Dr. Elmore was a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and practiced medicine at Browns Valley for eight years before feeling his call to the ministry, after which he attended the Southern Baptist Seminary at Louisville and served pastorates in Cruthersville; Brownstown; Clinton; Crawfordsville; Newtown and Marion, Freedom and was serving his last pastorate at the Waveland Church at the time of his death. Survivors are the widow; two sons, Ulysses H. Elmore of Crawfordsville and Austin Elmore of Beech Grove; 5 grandchildren and a great grandchild. The funeral was conducted at Waveland Baptist Church at 2:00 Monday afternoon and burial was made at Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville . Impressive funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Waveland Baptist Church where he had so faithfully served as pastor for the past 15years. Evangelist Chelsea Stockwell sang, Beyond the Sunset and Love of God accompanied by Mrs. Carlyle Scott at the piano. Scripture reading and prayer were by the Rev. Austin Elmore, son of the deceased and pastor of First Baptist Church of Beech Grove. Words of praise were spoken by young ministers whose lives have been led and blessed by the associations with the spirit-filled life of Dr. Elmore, their pastor. Those who spoke were the Rev. David CANINE of Blanchester, Ohio, Rev. Ralph Hubble of Richmond, Va; Evangelist Stockwell and Evangelist Carlyle Scott, who in the message paid tribute to the Godly life of Dr. Elmore and for the tireless efforts he put forth to reach the lost in the more than 30 years of his ministry. Pall bearers were Robert Fullenwider; Raymond Busenbark; Everett Brown; Clarence Rose; Donald Patton and Carlyle Collens. Floral tributes were carried by ladies of the Church. Interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery north of Crawfordsville with prayer of commitment by Rev. Paul Hubble.
