Mrs. Pearl SPRY, 70, a native of Montgomery County died at 8:30 p.m. Monday in a Chicago hospital. She had lived in Chicago since her marriage. She was born Dec 15, 1891, near Crawfordsville, the daughter of Simon & Ellen VanCleave Davis. She attended Montgomery Co schools. In Oct 1917 she married Claude Spry. Mrs. Spray was a member of the union Avenue Methodist Church in Chicago where she served as organist. She was widely known in music circles in Chicago and had taught piano there for many years and also gave piano lesson in Crawfordsville prior to her marriage. She attended the Chicago Musical College. Survivors include the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Stephen; two grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Davis, Mrs. Sarah Blaydes; Mrs. Mary Anderson and Mrs. Amanda Harms and 3 brothers, Clifford Davis; William L. Davis and Ray Davis. She was preceded in death by the parents, a brother and sister. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Chicago. Burial in Chicago.
