"JK Davis dies at Roachdale

Funeral services will be held at Ladoga Sunday afternoon Dec. 17

James K. Davis, 71, d. at the home of his son, Rolley Davis, in Roachdale at 7 o'clock Thurs morning, following a three weeks' illness with heart trouble. Mr. D. was b. near Ladoga, March 9, 1865 the son of Hiram and Mary CRUTCHFIELD Davis. He marr. Louisa WILCOX Feb 1887. Following her death in 1927, he marr. Lillian LYTLE, who survives. The dec. was a member of the Methodist Church here. Surviving, in addition to the son at whose home he expired and the widow are two sons, Richard and Rutherford, both of Ladoga; one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia RUNYON of Roachdale; two sisters, Mrs. Clara MOUNT and Mrs. WM TENER, both of Ladoga; four stepchildren and 8 grandchildren. One son, Roscoe was killed in the World War in 1918. Fun. serv. will be held at the Gottschall funeral home here, where the body was borught Thurs at 2 o'clock sun. afternoon with Rev. SG Smith officiating. interm in Ladoga Cemetery
