On Sunday night Jan 31, 1909, the angel of death called from our midst Mrs. Charles Oglesbee. Elizabeth Eva, daughter of William and Mary Davis was born in Waveland Sept 24, 1862. She was marr. to Charles Oglesbee on Nov 22, 1882 and to this union were b. two children: William H. and Mrs. Otto Reddish, who reside in Waveland and wit the husband survive her. She had one bro. who d. in Oct 1875. The deceased united with the Methodist Church in girlhood; later she transferred her membership to the Browns Valley Baptist Church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Christian Church of this place. She was a charter member of the Pythian Order and was faithful to its teachings to her death. Mrs. Oglesbee was a woman of many beautiful characteristics. She had the distinction of being exceptionally free form selfishness. Even when enduring great suffering she was patient and thoughtful of others about her. Her constantly enlarging circle of friends, who will always remain appreciative of the fact that they were her friends, were always met by her with a most pleasant smile and words of cheer. In her life she displayed those qualities which belong only to the pure and spiritual and the beautiful influence which she leaves will live on to uplift those, who are left to mourn her loss. The funeral was held at the Christian Church on Wed. morning at half past 10, conducted by Rev. EE Moorman of Indianapolis, assisted by Rev. LF Galey of Crawfordsville. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The Pythian Sisters acted as flower bearers. Interment at Freedom Cemetery

whereas; it has pleased the allwise Father to remove by the hand of death the beloved wife and helpmate of our brother Charles Oglesbee, be it: resolved: that we feel deeply with our brother in his heavy affliction and so far as human sympathy can go, desire to extend to him the hand grasp of comfort; but "The heart alone knoweth its own sorrow" be it further resolved: that these resolutions be spread upon the minutes of the lodge, a copy sent to the bereaved brother and that they be published in the local papers.
